I just realised that there were so many things which I could have reflected on but chose not to. My fingers were against typing out a long and boring post. Anyway, I initially wanted to write about bound feet. Then, I wanted to write about our CME topic. In the end, the laziness got the better of me, and I decided to blog about it in toto.

BOUND FEET
Honestly, watching the video on bound feet made me feel queasy. Especially when they showed the "end product" of the deformity. And to think that they did all this so that they could get married and not be ostracised. So, men of that time only married women who had small feet. The smaller the feet the better. (mag's POV: So, men at that time like women who had a high center of gravity and very low stability?) It's really quite sad that they have to undergo so much pain when most of the time, it is not what they want but what their mothers want. Anyway, this topic brings me back to what women do for vanity. How they go through such immense pain just to look (in their opinion) beautiful. In this modern society, there are many who are going for operations to make themselves taller. The operations have so many side effects but these people seem to overlook them. Truthfully, is it all worth it? The low esteem people have of themselves scare me. As technology progresses, I don't know what's going to happen in the future. And, I don't think I want to know.

Somehow or other, it just doesn't make sense.
Then again, it could just be me, who's not being sensitive enough.
